How the keyboard reaction time test works

Press any key to arm the test, then wait. After a random delay aletter appears on the keycap — press that exact key as fast as you can. The timer measures the gap between the letter appearing and your keypress.

Because you have to read the letter and find it before pressing, this is arecognition reaction rather than a simple one, so expect times a little above a plain click-on-green test. Pressing the wrong key, or pressing before the cue, counts as a miss and restarts the attempt.
