Reading the numbers: Error scales with the interval, so judge your result against the target you were given. Human interval timing typically drifts by 5–10% of the duration, which means a 10-second target should be expected to produce a larger absolute error than a 3-second one. Attention and arousal shift it too — the same person runs early when engaged and late when bored.

How the time perception test works

What does the time perception test measure?
It measures your internal sense of elapsed time — how accurately you can estimate a duration without counting or watching a clock. It's a simple probe of interval timing.
What is a good result?
Landing within 200ms of the target is good, and within 100ms is excellent. Most people drift by a few hundred milliseconds, and the error usually grows for longer target durations.
Is counting allowed?
The test is more interesting if you rely on your gut sense of time rather than counting seconds. Counting turns it into a rhythm test, but you're free to try both and compare your accuracy.
